How do I sign up for Treedy?
If you don't have a Treedy account, you can sign up for one in a few easy steps. To sign up for a brand new account, enter your name, birthday, gender, and email address into the form on www.treedy.com . Then pick a password. After you complete the sign up form, we'll send an email to the address you provided. Just click the confirmation link to complete the sign up process.
What is the minimum password strength? How can I make my password strong?
When creating a new password, be sure that it is at least 6 characters in length and that you use a complex string of numbers, letters, and punctuation marks. If the password you entered is not strong enough, you may want to try mixing uppercase and lowercase letters or making your password longer.
Ideally, the password you select should be easy for you to remember but hard for someone else to figure out. For added security, your Treedy password should also be different than other passwords that you use on the internet.
How do I permanently delete my account?
If you deactivate your account, your tree disappears from the Treedy service immediately. Your account will stay deactivated for three months. If you don’t reactivate your account during that period simply by logging back
again your account will be permanently removed from treedy.
During deactivation period people on Treedy won't be able to search for you, though some info, like messages you sent, may still be visible to others.
We also save your tree information (ex: friends, photos, interests, etc.) in case you want to come back during the activation period.
Please keep in mind that if your account gets permanently deleted you won't be able to reactivate your account or retrieve any of the content or information you've added. Before you do this, you may want to download a copy of your info from Treedy.
If you can't log in to your account, you'll need to reset your password first. To do this, go to on www.treedy.com and click the Forgot your password? link below the password field. Once you’ve followed the instructions to reset your password and can log into your account, you can deactivate or delete your account using the steps outlined above.
Where can I find my settings?
You can easily find your account settings in the first section of My Account dropdown.
How do I change which email address Treedy notifications are sent to?
You can change the email address we send notifications to from your Account Settings page.
Go to – account setting – Email – add – set as primary email.
After setting your new email address as your primary email, an email notification will be sent to it with a verification link to verify that you have input a valid email.
I receive a "password incorrect" error message, even though I know the password is correct.
Please make sure that your caps lock key is turned off. If you're still having problems, update your password.
I get an "invalid link" error when I try to reset my password with the password reset link.
Please try copying and pasting the full link you received into your address bar. Some email providers will separate the link onto several lines, so be sure to copy the entire link. If you're still having problems, please view the Login Problems section of the Help Centre.
I'm not receiving the email to reset my password.
If you requested a password reset but didn't receive your password reset email:
- Check the spam or junk mail folder in your email account. Sometimes these emails are misdirected.
- Check all of the email accounts and connected to your Treedy account. When you request a password reset, you'll see a list of the email addresses confirmed on your account. You'll have the option to send the password reset email to some or all of these accounts. Note: For security reasons, parts of the email addresses will be hidden (ex: firstname.lastname@example.org).
- Try to reset your password again.
- If you still don't receive the email after requesting a password reset a second time, wait 24 hours and try again. We may be experiencing temporary site issues.
- If you’re still not receiving your password reset email after the trying the four steps above, contact your Internet Service Provider (ex: Comcast) to make sure they’re not blocking email traffic coming from Treedy.
Tip: If you try to reset your password too many times too quickly, you may be temporarily blocked from requesting a password reset. If this happens, wait 24 hours and try again.
